Create a packaging EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC)

Modified on Tue, 30 Jun at 3:24 PM

Create an EU Declaration of Conformity (EU DoC) for your packaging. The EU DoC formally states that the applicable PPWR requirements have been demonstrated for the packaging. Under the PPWR, the conformity assessment and the EU DoC are drawn up for the entire Packaging Unit, including all integrated and separate components.

In ProductIP, you can generate this declaration automatically inside your packaging technical file after the packaging assessment and required documents are completed.

This functionality is available for all plans.

Before you begin

  • Set up your company account settings (company address, contact details, brand and logo)
  • (Optionally) Set up digital signatures for document signing
  • Ensure your packaging assessment and required documents are completed

This is the formal declaration step after the packaging assessment and the required technical documentation have been completed.

FAQ

  • Who needs to sign the EU DoC?

The manufacturer is responsible for the EU DoC. If an Authorised Representative has been appointed and the mandate covers this task, the Authorised Representative may sign on behalf of the manufacturer. The EU DoC is issued under the sole responsibility of the manufacturer.

  • Who is considered the manufacturer?

The manufacturer is the person or company responsible for the packaging under the PPWR. A company can also become the manufacturer if it places packaging on the market under its own name or trademark, or if it modifies packaging already placed on the market in a way that may affect conformity.

  • Can one EU DoC cover more than one regulation?

Yes, if packaging or the packaged product is subject to more than one Union act requiring an EU DoC, one single EU DoC may be drawn up where appropriate. The declaration must state the Union acts concerned and their publication references.
