The FIND search field on the Technical files tab allows you to search across all technical files using specific search indicators. This helps you quickly locate the technical file you need or filter large volumes without scrolling through endless lists.

Steps
Using FIND on the Technical files overview
- Go to the Technical files tab.
- Locate the FIND search field at the right top side.
- Click the "i" icon to enhance your search query. Using to provided prompts allows you to search inside the technical files for specific requirements, barcodes, fulfilment of requirements, etc. An example: requirement:"EN 60335-2-33" provides you with all your technical files containing this requirement.
- Enter your search query.
The system automatically starts searching.
Using FIND in a custom tab
The same search indicators are also available in the TEXT filter when creating a custom tab or editing an existing tab.
- Go to the Technical files tab.
- Click the "+" button on the left side and then click Create custom tab, or click an existing tab on the left side and then click Edit tab on the right side above the FIND field.
- Enter your search indicator in the TEXT filter field (View the list of the available search indicator by clicking "Show supported text filters").
- Click the red "–" button to clear the filter.
- Click Save to see the filtered results.
Tips and best practices
- If you need to search for the same indicators ofter, it is recommended to create a custom tab for this.
- The requirement search supports partial matches. For example, searching for
EN 60335-2-33will also return results such asEN 60335-2-33:2013andEN 60335-2-33:2016. - Use quotes (“ ”) around values that contain spaces, for example "
tag:"Winter 2021" ". If the value consists of a single word, you don’t need to use quotes. - The wildcard (
*)is useful when you only know part of an article number, for example "article:*6" returns technical files where the article number ends with "6". - You can combine multiple indicator in a single search by separating them with spaces.
Troubleshooting
- No results found?
Check that you are using the correct indicator and spelling. Make sure the value exists in your technical files and there is no space after the colon (:). - Wildcard not working?
The wildcard (*) works only with the "Article" indicator.

- Can I combine multiple search indicators in one FIND query?
Yes, you can combine indicators. For example, tag:"UK" creator:"John Doe" shows technical files with both criteria. - Do I need to use quotes for single words?
No, quotes are only required when your search value contains spaces, like tag:"Winter 2021".
